Alice Stippling by Goldencloud Alice Stippling by Goldencloud
I did this one right after the raccoon. The assignment was to stipple a person. We could either do ourselves, someone else we knew, or print a picture from the internet. I chose Alice. :) Or rather Ashley Greene as Alice. From Twilight, if you don't already know. I can't find the original picture I used, I can never find anything again on Flickr. *is aggravated* I'd like to find it again to compare...

I was pretty worried that this one wouldn't turn out. Stippling an animal is one thing, but humans are complicated. And that hair... *faint* I think it was worth it, though. It doesn't resemble poo all that much.

I can see the sharpie streaks you did in the hair and clothing, that's not stippling.

Isn't stippling when you only draw with dots, even in the solid places?

Thank you! My favorite has to be a tie between Emmett and Alice. I love Emmett's sense of humor, and there isn't much humor throughout the series. I like Alice because she's a lot like me, happy, bubbly, and unpredictable. Not to mention weird. ;)

I know. You look at it and it's like, "No big deal. It's just a bunch of dots." Those dots take a long time. :) Thanks!

First, find a picture of what you want to stipple and print it off. Printing in grayscale makes it a lot easier to tell what's darker and lighter. You can grid your paper and your reference paper if you wish, but if you just want to copy it without the grid that works too. Use a pencil to sketch it out, and once you have the basic outline sketch of everything, then you take a fine point Sharpie and start making dots. In lighter areas (such as her face for example) the dots would be much farther apart that on darker areas, where the dots would be a lot more concentrated, or even colored solid black if the area is supposed to be black.

Did that make sense? It makes more sense when Mr. Gilkison explains it. ^^;

Yeah, most of the Twilight characters have personality issues. Thanks! I think you meant patience, not skills. Anyone can do this really, if they just take the time to actually sit down and do it. It isn't that hard. :)

You'd be surprised how very few people have realized this; "Anyone can do this really, if they just take the time to actually sit down and do it. It isn't that hard." It seems that there are a lot of people that can't seem to sit down and do something for more than a few minutes ....

Thank you! :)
